Ultherapy in Walnut Creek
Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to reach the layer beneath the skin where collagen is made, and to prompt your body to build more of it. Over the months that follow, the skin gradually lifts and firms. I perform every Ultherapy treatment myself, only after we have had a consultation. The consultation is where I look at how far your skin has loosened, and where we decide together whether Ultherapy is the right choice for you.

How Ultherapy Works
During a session I pass the Ultherapy handpiece over the area we are treating. It delivers focused ultrasound energy to a set depth beneath the surface, where the warmth prompts your body to produce new collagen, while the skin above is left undisturbed. Because that collagen is built by your own body over the following months, the improvement arrives gradually, which is also why the result looks natural.

Where I Use Ultherapy
Ultherapy is most often asked about for the face, but the same principle applies wherever skin has loosened. These are the areas I treat:
- Brow — a non-surgical brow lift
- Full face
- Neck
- Décolletage
- Upper arms (underside)
- Around the knees
- The abdomen, around the navel
Not every area calls for the same plan, so we will settle which areas make sense for you, and in what order, at the consultation.
How We Plan Your Sessions
For most areas I plan two sessions: one to start, then a second three to six months later. That is a planning reference, not a rule. How many sessions you need, and how far apart, depends on the area and on how your skin responds. We will settle it together as we go.
I frequently pair one Ultherapy session with one session of hyperdilute Radiesse. It is an option we can talk through at your consultation, if it suits what you would like to improve.
When will I see my results?
Some clients see an initial tightening, but most of your improvements will occur over the following 2-3 months, as your body builds new collagen and elastin.
How long will my results last?
Because Ultherapy triggers new collagen production, your results last for about one year. Then the natural decline of collagen comes back into play, so another Ultherapy session can be scheduled to maintain your results.
What to Expect on the Day
How long a session takes depends on the area. A full face takes about two and a half hours, which is why I prefer to treat the full face over two visits, so that you are comfortable throughout. Numbing is optional. We will talk about comfort before we start. You decide what you would like.
Are there side effects, or is recovery required?
Right after treatment the skin can look flushed for a few hours. Some swelling is common and can last from a few hours to about three days. Tenderness or bruising, where it happens, can persist from a couple of days to two weeks. Occasionally a treated area feels numb or tingly along a nerve for a while; the manufacturer’s figures put that at two to six weeks. There is no downtime — most people go straight back to their day.
Is Ultherapy Right for You?
Ultherapy is a treatment for skin that has begun to loosen, but it is not the answer for everyone. I would rather we find that out at the consultation than after a treatment. I will look at your skin, listen to what concerns you, and share what I think Ultherapy can improve for you, and what it cannot. Then we decide together. If I am not confident it will give you an improvement you would notice, I will say so. We will look at the other options together — sometimes that is a different treatment, sometimes it is waiting.
Pricing and Your Consultation
Ultherapy is priced by area. As a guide, treatment ranges from about $750 for a brow lift to about $3,500 for the full face and neck. Other areas, such as the décolletage, upper arms, knees and abdomen, are priced at your consultation, once I have seen how much treatment the area needs. The consultation is $150, waived if you proceed with treatment.
Introductory offer: 20% off Ultherapy for a limited time. Ask about it when you book your consultation.
